Michael Schumacher and Bruno Senna were both eliminated in the second stage of qualifying for the Brazilian GP.
Schumacher, who is gearing up for his final race at the pinnacle of the sport, will now have to make do with 14th spot on the grid. Senna also failed to deliver after shinning in Q1 in his Williams and he will start in 12th.
Paul di Resta meanwhile finished up just on the wrong side of the cut off in P11, just 0.073 seconds off Felipe Massa, who sneaked through with a late improvement. Sauber pair Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi also went out and will line up 13th and 15th, sandwiching Schumacher's Mercedes, while Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne took 16th and 17th for Toro Rosso.
At the other end, Sebastian Vettel was quickest for Red Bull on a 1m 13.209s, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Mark Webber, Kimi Raikkonen, Pastor Maldonado, Nico Hulkenberg, Nico Rosberg and Fernando Alonso also made it through to the shootout in positions 4 through to 9. Massa, as mentioned, took the final place in Q3 with the tenth best effort.
