Bruno Senna aims to join a points-scoring team after departure from Williams
Senna targets points-scoring drive
Bruno Senna says he is hopeful of being able to secure a drive with a team that would give him the chance to score regular points in the 2013 F1 season.

Senna has been left without a drive after being dropped by Williams in favour of test driver Valtteri Bottas, with only limited options now available on the grid.

The Brazilian has been mentioned alongside the currently vacant role at Caterham, but his most realistic chance of being with a team capable of scoring points would be alongside Paul di Resta at Force India – with the Scot expected to stay on for another year.

Having enjoyed a solid season with Williams, Senna said he was eager to be with a team that would allow him to score more points again in 2013 and insisted that that was his number one aim for the new season.

"This year we've built a good reputation and image and I think we have a good, strong package so it should be possible to be on the grid next year," he told GPUpdate. "Ideally it would be in a car that is already in the top ten and scoring points regularly.

"Nothing is guaranteed of course and in Formula 1 there are always a million things going on around us, so I've just got to keep working out, keep working hard and try offer a better package than the guys that are fighting for the same positions."

The 29-year-old admitted however that he wasn't ruling out the possibility of joining a team further down the order, such as Caterham, as it was important for his future career to make sure he is on the grid somewhere next year.

"I think you need to understand what the teams are going through and what they're going to improve on," he said of the possibility of joining an upcoming team. "There are teams still coming up so we'll have to keep the options open. Being in F1 is the only way to continue in F1 in the future."

of the drivers currently without a seat i would put bruno about 6th in my list of most deserving.. id put kobi, algues, kovi, sut & buem all ahead of him. not to mention heidfeld and even sato. though i'm surprised we haven't heard jv chasing a drive this silly season..
Bruno has been made to look pretty ordinary by the Pastorfarian.

Completely agree with Stig. Bruno has been trading on his surname and IMO has no business being in F1. He's just not fast enuff. His apologists will be on here claiming he only gets Sat qually but his race performances are HRT-esque and not a fair reflection of Williams ambition going forward (ESP considering how low Williams have been in recent years). Bruno, how about sportscars or NASCAR ?
