Vettel suit raises £11,000 for charity

Sebastian Vettel's race suit raises £11,000 in special charity auction
Race suits signed and worn by the six champions on the F1 grid this season have raised nearly £40,000 for the Wings for Life charity – with Sebastian Vettel's suit raising £11,000 alone.

The auction, which was carried out by Bonhams, saw suits worn by Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and Kimi Raikkonen go under the hammer to raise funds for the charity, which will go towards cutting-edge research projects and clinical trials across the globe aimed at accelerating progress towards a cure for spinal cord injury.

Each of the six race suits was complimented by other donations from the drivers including pairs of signed race gloves and signed photographic prints.

“It's been one of the most competitive seasons for Formula One drivers,” Vettel said following the sale. “I'm really proud to have won the Championship with the team and it's great that these suits have raised so much money for such a fantastic charity.”

Wings for Life is the charity partner of Red Bull Racing and their logo features on both of the Red Bull Racing cars.

Red Bull Racing drivers Mark Webber and Vettel, along with ex-F1 racer David Coulthard, are ambassadors for the Wings for Life charity.

Couldn't believe that Sebastian Vettel is so much liked or respected by sensible Britishers. Its clear that many posting on this forum are stupid, ignorant kids and losers in real life.
