Schumacher enjoys two-wheel outing

Michael Schumacher enjoys a two-wheel track day at Paul Ricard
Michael Schumacher admitted he has enjoyed the chance to make a return to two-wheels after completing a special track day at Paul Ricard.

The seven-time F1 champion hit the track alongside John McGuinness, Randy Mamola, Pol Espargaro and endurance racer Keith Flint for the event, which was organised by Monster Energy.

Schumacher competed on two-wheels for a time after his initial retirement from F1 at the end of the 2006 F1 season.

“Coming here today I felt so proud to be able to turn my hand at riding a bike with guys I really admire,” he said. “I can't begin to explain how much fun it was to ride the track with the likes of John, Randy, Keith and watching Pol Espargaro's huge talent.”

TT legend McGuinness meanwhile said he was impressed by Schumacher's performance on track.

“Riding with Michael was so good,” he said. “What he's achieved on four wheels makes him the Godfather of motorsport.

“I wasn't expecting him to be anything less, but he's fast! You can see his enthusiasm for motorcycles and it was a massive pleasure to spend the day with him.”

Was never a Schumacher fan, but after he proved himself to be fast on two wheels I begrudgingly had to give him credit. Almost broke my heart.
