Valtteri Bottas says he is keen to learn as much as possible during his first season in an F1 race seat
Bottas keen to learn
Valtteri Bottas says his focus for the 2013 season is on learning as the Finn prepares to compete in F1 for the first time.

Bottas will partner Pastor Maldonado in the Williams line-up after being promoted from the role of test and reserve driver.

The former GP3 title winner impressed on a number of Friday outings last year for the Grove-based team but ahead of his debut season, Bottas said he wasn't getting carried away in his aims for 2013.

"Being successful in the future, that is my goal as well and I'm in Formula One now because I really want to compete against the best in the world," he told Sporting Life.

"I want to do well and one day I want to be the world champion, but next year it's all about learning, getting up to speed as quickly as possible, minimising mistakes and bringing home points.

"I know, and the team knows, once I get to drive more, with mileage and experience, then I can do some good things."

keen to learn??? that wasn't what he was saying prior to Williams i.e. Toto Wolff announce him for 2013. He was always saying how the car was faster than the results both drivers were getting and how he was keen to get in it in 2013 and show what the car could achieve. Now he comes with this BS talk? I don't think Sir Frank accepted Toto's driver for 2013 expecting to be a learning year.
