Force India denies 'crisis' speculation
Sahara Force India has moved to deny speculation that it 'could collapse' as a result of financial issues.

Italian publication Italiaracing suggested that the team has been left in 'crisis' thanks to financial problems involving team owner Vijay Mallya and was at risk of closure.

The report also claimed that Bernie Ecclestone was looking into a plan to save the team and that Colin Kolles could return to the team he worked for for a number of years from its days as Jordan through to Mallya taking control.

The Silverstone-based team has however been quick to respond to the reports, with a statement obtained by Pitpass making its stance on the speculation clear.

“Sahara Force India dismisses the rumours that appeared on the internet this morning, which are part of a growing trend of irresponsible online journalism directed at the team,” the statement read.

“There is no truth behind claims that the team is 'in crisis', which only serve as a gossip at a time when new in the Formula One world is limited. It's also disappointing that the team was not contacted for a response.

“The team is pushing ahead with the new car build and looking forward to the launch of the 2013 car and new team partnerships.”

The team has yet to confirm its full line-up for 2013, with reports suggesting that the identity of Paul di Resta's team-mate still to be announced.

the magazine has been right before, so is it right now? remember, there is no smoke without fire! mallya is in deep trouble and has been for some time. remember the proposed strike by employees of his airline in india? it was called off as he promised to pay them, but appartently they still have not been paid.

it would be sad to see any midfield or top team being forced off the track, but we really need to see something positive from the team. how about announcing your drivers, for a start?
