Sky Sports has confirmed that its dedicated F1 channel is to move to a new home for the 2013 season.

The new channel was launched last year as the new home for the sport in the UK after Sky acquired the broadcast rights to each event on the calendar from the BBC - who retained rights to show a select number of races live alongside extended highlights of the remaining rounds.

Having been based on channel 408 since its launch, Sky has now announced that the channel will move to 406 from 4 February onwards, bringing it inline with the remaining Sky Sports channels.

Sky Sports HD will also move on the same date to channel 439.
