Massa feeling very positive about new Ferrari

Felipe Massa: The feeling is really 100 per cent in the right direction

Felipe Massa has said he has a 'very positive feeling' about the new Ferrari F138.

The Brazilian will again be the number two driver this season alongside Fernando Alonso and speaking at the launch of the Scuderia's 2013 F1 challenger on Friday, he was optimistic about what the Maranello-based outfit can achieve this year.

“It's always a good feeling - the first feeling - to see the car,” Massa said at the launch. “I've had many presentations already in my career with Ferrari.

“I've had some feelings that were not very positive in a few years, to see the car for the first time. Other years, it was very positive and I have to say that this is a very positive feeling. Maybe it's just my personal feeling but I think it was nice to see the car.

“I think the car is much more prepared. You have some interesting details around the car that can work and can be nice on the track.

“But let's wait and see how everything's going to be on the track but the feeling is really 100 per cent in the right direction.”

Massa will get to complete the first-runs with the car next week in Jerez and he is looking forward to getting back in action.

“The first test is very useful to understand the direction in which we should go and where we need to do the most work,” he added.

“Last year, I had a very positive second half to the season and I really want to get back on track and continue with the work that has seen me improve a lot over the past years. My aim is always the same, to give my all, right from the start of the season.”

Would love to see Massa have a great year .He is a great little survivor and a likeable bloke.Nearly killed with a spring hitting his head and not having the rub of the green in the championship he nearly won. Had to swallow his pride and make way for Alonso a few times this year ( gearbox penalty stunt etc.) I would love to see him winning a race on merit early in 2013. FORZA MASSA !

Massa is back up to speed he was faster than Alonso in the last couple of races of 2012. Piquet who hit his head in the Williams days said it took him over 1 year to recover from that impact and regain speed and when you see how much worse Massa's was I think it really took longer but hes clearly 100% now which is great. When Hamilton left to Mercedes I was screaming out of my lungs for that dumb Whitemarsh to bring in Massa which would had been a very strong lineup with Massa and Button just like it was back in the days with Kimi and Massa. Perez doesn't have the speed in him that Massa has that's why Ferrari didn't think of him as a replacement for Massa. Now Ferrari have a very strong lineup to fight Vettel while Macca will be sucking their dump with happy Button and inconstant Perez. As long as Ferrari gives Massa the same opportunity as Alonso and not take extra races to give him the same parts as Alonso like in 2012 I think Massa can fight for the championship and kudos for Domen
