F1 » Sportscar deal takes Senna out of F1 equation

Bruno Senna is no longer a factor in the battle over seats at Force India and Marussia, having found gainful employment elsewhere.
Sportscar deal takes Senna out of F1 equation
Bruno Senna will not be an F1 driver in 2013.

That much may have appeared true to anyone who could see others in line for the vacant seats at Force India and Marussia, but has been confirmed following the announcement that the Brazilian has been signed by Aston Martin Racing as part of its assault on both the Le Mans 24 Hours and World Endurance Championship.

Senna was ousted from his seat at Williams when the Grove team opted to sign Valtteri Bottas alongside Pastor Maldonado for 2013, but was closely linked to a number of vacancies thanks to the sponsorship package he was alleged to be able to bring from Brazil.

Instead, with doors closing on him in recent weeks, Senna has instead opted to return to sportscar racing - having used the category to bridge the gap between his GP2 and F1 careers several years ago - and will partner the highly-rated Frederic Makowiecki in the #99 AMR entry in the WEC, with Rob Bell joining the pair for Le Mans.
