Sutil: I’ve done what I can
Adrian Sutil says he has done all he can to try and secure a return to the F1 grid after spending a day on track with Force India on Thursday.

More than 450 days after he last got behind the wheel of an F1 machine, the German reappeared for his former team on the penultimate day of the first Catalunya test, completing 78 laps and posting the eighth quickest time.

Sutil will now hope that he earns the chance to return to a race seat alongside Paul di Resta, although he faces competition from test driver Jules Bianchi, who takes over for the final day today [Friday].

Deputy team principal Bob Fernley had insisted that the team 'wasn't rushing to make a decision' over who will partner di Resta but Sutil said he felt he had done all he could.

"I've done everything I can do to get my comeback, now it's up to them to decide," he told reporters in Barcelona. "They know me better than any other team here. I spent six years with the team and they know my performance. I think it was obvious today that I can show I am still quick and that was very important.”

The German added that there were other factors aside from performance on track that would ultimately play a part in the decision making process before the second driver is confirmed.

"It has to be something else otherwise they would have confirmed a driver in plenty of time for the first test," he continued. "It can't take long anymore as in three weeks there is a race but for me, the most important thing was to deliver a performance.

“I have done my part and had a good day. I can sleep without any worries."
