Force India 'opts for Sutil' - reports
Force India currently uses Mercedes engines, but there has been speculation that they have been talking about a switch to Ferrari units in 2014 if the right deal could be negotiated.

Ferrari, meanwhile, were believed to be interested in finding a seat for Bianchi, whom they loaned to Force India as a test and reserve driver in 2012. The Italian team wants to get the 23-year-old Ferrari Driver Academy graduate some proper race experience before considering him as a possible future driver at Maranello.

If Sutil has got the nod for the second seat at Force India, therefore, then it appears less likely that Ferrari are still in the running to supply them with V6 engines in 2014.

Force India has previously said that they are in no hurry to finalise their driver line-up. even though the season opener in Melbourne is now only a little over two weeks away.

I think they promised him the drive, they had to drop him for 2012 because of the charges and he wouldn't of been able to go to all the tracks, and the reason they are bringing him back is they feel bad for him for scoring soo many points in the last half of 2011 it made di resta look bad.

If this turns out to be true then its a disappointing decision. I understand that teams need drivers who can reliably bring home some constructors points, but Sutil is mediocre at best and Bianchi seems to have a lot of potential. I think I would have taken the risk and hired the rookie.
