Force India currently uses Mercedes engines, but there has been speculation that they have been talking about a switch to
Ferrari units in 2014 if the right deal could be negotiated.
Ferrari, meanwhile, were believed to be interested in finding a seat for Bianchi, whom they loaned to
Force India as a test and reserve driver in 2012. The Italian team wants to get the 23-year-old
Ferrari Driver Academy graduate some proper race experience before considering him as a possible future driver at Maranello.
If Sutil has got the nod for the second seat at Force India, therefore, then it appears less likely that
Ferrari are still in the running to supply them with V6 engines in 2014.
Force India has previously said that they are in no hurry to finalise their driver line-up. even though the season opener in Melbourne is now only a little over two weeks away.
