Maria de Villota continues to make progress following the horrific accident she suffered while testing with the Marussia F1 team last year.

The Spaniard lost an eye, as well as sense of taste and smell, and continues to suffer headaches following the freak incident during straight-line testing at Duxford Airfield, when her head made contact with the tail-lift of the team's transporter.

After initial concerns over her long-term prognosis, she continues to make good progress and recently received clearance to begin driving again. Sporting a scarlet eye-patch that is quickly becoming a trademark, de Villota joined the Spanish national motorsport authority in January and plans to catch up with the Marussia team at next month's Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
