Massa wants to fight back in Spain

Felipe Massa: Obviously I was not happy with my last race in Bahrain...
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa wants to be back fighting it out for 'top places' at the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend.

The Brazilian had a tough race last time out in Bahrain, and after contact on the opening lap with Adrian Sutil - which damaged the nose on his F138 - his afternoon was then wreaked by two punctures, leaving him a lowly 15th at the chequered flag.

He is now hoping to regain the momentum that saw him score in the first three races and ideally improve upon the fourth place he managed in Australia, his best result to date this year.

“I really like going to Spain,” he told the Scuderia's official website, in the countdown to the fifth round in the 2013 F1 World Championship. “I've always liked both the feel of Barcelona itself and the atmosphere at the track during the race weekend.

“The Circuit de Catalunya is the track that we know best thanks to all the tests that we do there at the start of the year: it's a complex, technical track where it's important to have good aerodynamic downforce.

“My best memory from Barcelona came in 2007 when I won the race: it was a great victory in front of a fantastic crowd that saw me fight with many opponents – including Fernando [Alonso – my team-mate], who was then at McLaren.

“Obviously I was not happy with my last race in Bahrain and so I hope to be able to get back to fighting for the top places next weekend.”

Your pissing into the wind my friend, ferrari will never allow you to win a championship with Alonso there ferrari have ran strategies in races this year where you have ended up behind the golden child at the end Try get a seat at Red Bull, Mark Webber is not happy now he he realised he is not in Vettels league and will probably leave plus they allow their drivers to race each other for at least 2 thirds of the race

Even though I agree that it its very unlikely that Ferrari will ever allow him to win anything, you do have to remember that the same thing was said back in 2008... and after a streak of bad results from Kimmi they had no choice but to support Massa's claim. In the end, Ferrari still made him lose the championship with silly pit stop mistakes and whatnot. Also, I happen to know a fair few Brazilians and it amazes me how bad they talk about their own drivers... For some of them it is like there was Senna and then everyone that comes after him will not be respected! Weird to say the least. They had guys like Barrichello which was always liked by everyone and now Massa who, despite having 2 rough years, seems to be coming back and they absolutely despise both! I'd drive under another flag if I was on that situation.
