Di Resta: Hopefully we’ll have reason to smile
4 June 2013
Paul di Resta says he hopes that Force India will have reason to smile following its 100th F1 race this weekend in Canada.
The team heads for Montreal sitting fifth in the constructors' championship after another solid race in Monaco – where both di Resta and team-mate Adrian Sutil were able to score on race day.
Di Resta is the best placed of the pair in the drivers standings as he makes the trip to the Circuit Gilles Villeneue, with the Scot hopeful that he would be able to help the team celebrate its century in style.
“We've been competitive on every track this year and that's a credit to the team, so we expect to be at our usual level once again,” he said. “It's traditionally a track that has suited us, so we go there confident that we can fight towards the front once again.
“100 races is a significant achievement and it's great to see how much the team has grown during that time. It's a credit to the commitment of the shareholders and hopefully we can give them something to smile about come Sunday evening.”
Team-mate Sutil meanwhile said he was keen to try and pick up a strong result himself at a circuit where he hasn't always gone well in the past.
“It's definitely one my favourite races on the calendar because it's a great city,” he said. “It's also an interesting and unusual track, and it can be a long race with different scenarios and strategy options.
“I like the circuit, but for some reason I've never had good results there. Hopefully we can change that this year.”
