Silverstone will play host to the F1 Young Driver Test next month between the races in Germany and Hungary.
The circuit has confirmed that the three-day session will run from 17-19 July, a week ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix
in Budapest and prior to the traditional F1 summer break.
The home of the British Grand Prix
played host to one of three Young Driver Tests last year, with Williams, Marussia and the now-defunct HRT team all completing their tests at the circuit.
By contrast, Ferrari, Force India
and Mercedes carried out their tests at Magny-Cours, while Red Bull, McLaren, Lotus, Sauber, Toro Rosso
and Caterham completed their running at Yas Marina in November.
The test will give teams the chance to run rookie drivers on track, with the session open to those with fewer than two F1 races to their name.
Marussia pair Jules Bianchi
and Max Chilton
as well as Sauber's Esteban Gutierrez and Williams' Valtteri Bottas have all taken part in Young Driver Tests in the past.
