British Grand Prix: Hamilton: We still have a lot to learn

Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes has more to learn after a challenging start to the British Grand Prix weekend
Lewis Hamilton admitted that Mercedes has more to learn during Saturday's running ahead of the British Grand Prix following a rain-affected opening day of action at Silverstone.

Rain throughout the morning meant first practice was almost written off, with Hamilton one of only eleven drivers who posted a time in the closing minutes.

The Briton then spent much of the second session running on the prime tyre and he admitted there was work still to do to improve the balance of his car after a difficult day on track.

“We had quite a challenging day today and definitely have more to learn tomorrow,” he said. “I'm struggling a little with the balance of my car so there's some work to do overnight to get us into shape for qualifying. We haven't quite got it hooked up yet and you can really tell that on this circuit, particularly with Becketts and Maggots. I'm confident we'll fix it tomorrow though.”

Hamilton also took time to thank the watching fans for their support despite the relative lack of track action they had enjoyed.

“It's great for the British fans here that they were able to see some track action this afternoon after the rain this morning and a big thank you to everyone for sticking with us,” he added. “Hopefully the weather will improve tomorrow!”

ProperF1fanny, My woman is having a swim in the bath, where's yours? Sadly I've had the misfortune of reading Lulu's column on the BBC website and it confirmed my view that he is indeed a dimwit. Allow me to paraphrase from a few weeks ago... "My dog is my new best friend and everyone said I couldn't look after a dog but I'm going to prove them wrong" Hardly the work of a literary genius is it? More like the ramblings of a rather simple 12 year old.

“Lulu knows more than all drivers except 2/3 so why not pick on them?”. Simply because they are not pushed to do so. People that do are not only pushed too by his brain farts but mostly by his one eyed (most but not all) UNWASHED/SORDID/STOMACH CHURNING/UPSETING FAN BOYS.
