Pirelli insists it isn't in conflict with F1's teams despite laying some of the blame for the issues encountered in the British Grand Prix
firmly at their door.
Having carried out a detailed investigation into the cause of the failures, Pirelli revealed that a 'series of different causes'
had been the blame, including team's running their rear tyres on the incorrect side of the car and using tyre pressures that were too low.
Despite laying some of the blame firmly at the feet of the teams however, Pirelli insisted that it wasn't in conflict with its customers and was working alongside all those involved in the sport to resolve the current issues being faced.
“Contrary to the impression that some people have formed, I would like to underline the collaboration and support that we are receiving from the teams, drivers, FIA and FOM,” Pirelli motorsport boss Paul Hembery said. “In no way are we intending to create arguments or attack anybody. We have taken our responsibilities upon ourselves as our press release indicates.
“But not having full control over all the elements that impact on the use of the tyres, we need everybody's contribution. With regard to this, we are receiving the full support of all the parties involved, for which we are very grateful.”
Pirelli has already confirmed that changes will be made
for this weekend's German Grand Prix, with new Kevlar-belted rubber being introduced.
