Hamilton: Kimi at Red Bull would be 'cool'

Lewis Hamilton says it would be 'cool' to see Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel together at Red Bull next year
Lewis Hamilton has said he thinks it would be 'cool' to see Kimi Raikkonen partner Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull next year.

The Finn is the hot favourite to partner Vettel next year when Mark Webber makes the switch to sportscars, with Lotus boss Eric Boullier having said the defending champion are 'pushing hard' to try and sign his driver for 2014.

Toro Rosso pair Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne are also in the mix to replace Webber next year but Hamilton said he would love to see 2007 title winner Raikkonen have the chance to show what he could do in the same car as triple champion Vettel.

“Right now it would be really cool to see Kimi in a Red Bull,” he was quoted The Sun. “He would give Seb a hard time.

“Kimi is an incredible driver everyone knows that so with an even better car it would be interesting to see what he does with that.”

Hamilton himself is currently embroiled in a battle for top honours at Mercedes with Nico Rosberg and heads the German in the standings, despite the fact he has yet to win while Rosberg himself has won on two occasions.

However, the Briton said the rivalry with his team-mate was proving to be a healthy and was showing him that he couldn't expect to win every time he goes out on track.

“What you learn is to take losses on the chin and to learn and grow from those experiences,” he said. “You can't always be ahead of your team-mate. You can't win all the time, that's the biggest thing I have learned.

“Some things happen for a reason. But I am still the same as always. I drive aggressively and go out to win.”

Richard the Red Bull cars have never been about speed they have been about aero and since the RB5 and the later part of he 2009 until now they have dominated not through speed but through designing cars with better d/force than the rest and it is no coincidence that the man who heads the technical department at Red Bull specialises in Aerodynamics, and it is no coincidence that were ever he has been WDC an WCC are created, with this man it is aero over horsepower and Vettel has been driving the better cars since the latter part of 2009 BTW Richard can you please explain rgt please.

Lovenothate, So it's all about points scored now? That's funny since for the last 3 seasons the fanboys have been telling us that it's all about wins and poles. If it's all about points scored does that mean Button is a better driver than Lulu since he scored more points over three seasons as Lulu's team mate?
