United States Grand Prix host, the Circuit of the Americas, has added another high-profile event to its burgeoning roster with confirmation that future Summer X Games will take place in Austin.

The venue staged its inaugural F1 event late last year and has since added MotoGP's Texas Motorcycle Grand Prix, Australian V8 Supercars, the FIA World Endurance Championship, American Le Mans Series and Rolex Sports Car Series to its 2013 calendar, before seeing a bid for the prestigious X Games contract accepted.

As a result, the ESPN-backed 'extreme sports' event will head to Austin for the next four years, starting with an inaugural visit over 15-18 May 2014.
