Sergey Sirotkin is set to visit the Sauber factory in Switzerland next week on the first step of his development programme with the team.
The team's proposed deal with a raft of Russian companies included a tie-up that it set to see the 17-year-old Formula Renault 3.5 driver work with Sauber towards a place on the F1 grid.
While it is unlikely that Sirotkin will appear in Sauber's F1 machine before the end of the season, he is now set to visit Hinwil for the first time to see first hand how the team operates and also meet team personnel.
"During the visit scheduled for August 20-22, Sergey will get acquainted with the team's personnel, its technical equipment and F1 car," a statement from his management read.
Sirotkin's visit comes with Sauber having denied cracks in its Russian deal
amidst reports that all was far from well.
