Marko: No news at Spa

Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko backtracks on previous comments and says Red Bull will make no announcement at Spa
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko insists that there will be no announcement from the team at Spa about its driver line-up for the 2014 F1 season.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Daniel Ricciardo would be confirmed as team-mate to Sebastian Vettel during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, with Kimi Raikkonen having dropped out of the running.

Those reports came on the back of comments from Marko himself hinting that a deal was close to being announced, although Red Bull insisted it would only make an announcement when it had news to release.

Back-tracking on his initial claims, Marko has now said there will be no news at Spa, with the possibility that it could be the final European race of the year at Monza before the identity of Mark Webber's replacement becomes known.

"We will express ourselves when the time comes," Marko was quoted by the German news agency SID, "and that will definitely not be at Spa."
