Seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher has told fans they can expect fireworks next season when Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen join forces at Ferrari.
Raikkonen returns to the team that took him to the 2007 title on a two-year deal as a replacement for Felipe Massa, leaving the team with one of the strongest driver pairings on the grid.
Former McLaren man David Coulthard has said he expects it to be fascinating finding out
if the decision to re-sign Raikkonen was the right one, and Schumacher – who was replaced by the Finn when he retired from the sport for the first time – said he was expecting fireworks.
"Ferrari with Fernando and Kimi, that sounds like an explosive mixture," he told Bild
. "For motor sport fans, it will certainly mean fireworks, and for their rivals, a tough pairing to overcome.
“It will be exciting to watch."
