Daniil Kvyat is set to appear for Toro Rosso at both the US and Brazilian Grands' Prix after successfully wrapping up the GP3 title in Abu Dhabi.

The young Russian secured the championship crown with a dominant success in the first race under lights at Yas Marina, coming home comfortably clear of Nick Yelloly while title rival Facu Regalia failed to score - being classed 16th after being penalised for ignoring yellow flags. Kvyat is now set to take part in a test in an older car in order to secure the super licence required to appear on track during a race weekend, with the 19-year-old then slated to hit the track at both the Circuit of the Americas and Interlagos.

Kvyat will replace Red Bull-bound Daniel Ricciardo in the Toro Rosso line-up next year.

"We will have a test with him next week to get the Super Licence," team boss Franz Tost. "Afterwards, he will go out on Friday in America and in Sao Paulo and of course we will have winter time, where he has to do a lot of work with physical training, mental training, then working on the simulator to prepare him as good as possible for the next season."
