Hermann Tilke has been given the role of designing a new circuit on the outskirts of Moscow that would be capable of hosting an F1 race.

Although Russia will join the F1 calendar next year, that race will take place in the city of Sochi, where Tilke has designed a new circuit around the Olympic Park that will host the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Despite the Moscow Raceway only being opened last year, the city government announced earlier this year that it planned to try and build a second venue capable of hosting an F1 race, with Tilke now set to be given the role of designing the new circuit.
