Red Bull Racing's Sebastian Vettel picked up the DHL Fastest Lap Award last weekend in Brazil, handed out each season to the driver who sets the most fastest laps over the course of a year.

Vettel, who secured his fourth F1 drivers' crown in 2013, amassed seven fastest laps over the season - one more than in 2012.

Vettel was presented with the award by Joakim Thrane, managing director, DHL Express Brazil, and former F1 driver and DHL ambassador, Christian Danner.

"Everyone at DHL is delighted to once again hand over the DHL Fastest Lap Award to Sebastian Vettel and to be associated with another milestone in his record-breaking career," said Thrane.

"The DHL Fastest Lap is not just about recognising one lap in a race. More importantly, it celebrates the hard work that goes on behind the scenes into honing the skills and reflexes to be the quickest, a quality that is very important to DHL.

"In securing the trophy yet again, Sebastian Vettel has demonstrated the dedication and drive that are crucial to delivering success in any business."

It is the third time Vettel has taken the DHL Fastest Lap Award as he also took the honours in 2009 and 2012.

He has now exceeded the tally of Kimi Raikkonen, who won the award in 2007 and 2008, and has become the first driver to secure both the Drivers' Championship and DHL Fastest Lap Award in two consecutive seasons.

Vettel was the fastest driver on the circuits in Shanghai, Bahrain, Monaco, Belgium, Singapore, Korea and the USA. He was followed in the DHL Fastest Lap 2013 ranking by Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber, who set the fastest lap during five races.
