Giedo van der Garde is in talks with all three teams yet to confirm their driver line-ups for the 2014 F1 season as he seeks to secure a place on the grid for next year.
The Dutch driver made his F1 debut this season with Caterham, taking a best finish of 14th during the Hungarian Grand Prix
in Budapest and making it through to the second phase of qualifying on two occasions.
Van der Garde had been linked with a number of teams for next season and while staying at Caterham remains an option, talks are also taking place with both Sauber and Marussia as the 28-year-old works to secure his future.
"We are still working," manager Jan Paul ten Hoopen told GPUpdate
. "We are still very busy with negotiations. We are talking with all teams that have a seat free."
It would appear that van der Garde's best option could be to remain with Caterham for next year, with Esteban Gutierrez appearing to be close to re-signing with Sauber and Marussia insisting it is close to extending Max Chilton's deal into 2014.
