Williams fires up new 2014 F1 car

Williams continue preparations for the 2014 F1 season
The Williams F1 Team has confirmed that it has fired up its 2014 challenger, the FW36, for the very first time.

In a message on Twitter, the Grove based-outfit revealed that team boss and founder, Sir Frank Williams was at the factory on Saturday evening to see the Mercedes engine being started. Williams have switched to Mercedes powerplants this year after two years with Renault.

Williams has still to confirm when it will officially launch the FW36, although it has said it will attend the opening pre-season test at Jerez in Spain, which runs from January 28-31, with Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas likely to split the running between them.

Common guys. No mistakes this year. I hope that the FW36 will be a good car. There are many reasons why I would like a competitive Williams and one of them is that a good car would be very refreshing for Massa.

I want to believe that Williams is putting all the pieces together. They are picking up ex-Lotus personnel like it's going outa style and that is good. I think they have a great driver line up to exploit the given tools. Also lets see what the Merc can give as well. Realistic goals i think are consistent points finishes, with occasional threat to the podium are a must for 2014. Getting a podium or even a race win I think will be icing on the cake for Williams this year.
