Adrian Sutil will start from the back row of the grid for the Bahrain Grand Prix after being penalised after qualifying.

Towards the end of Q1, Sutil attempted to defend track position from Romain Grosjean but forced the Lotus wide on the approach to the final corner. The stewards opted to investigate the decision after qualifying and decided that Sutil "forced Car 8 (Grosjean) off the track between Turns 13 and 14".

As a result, Sutil has been handed a five-place grid penalty for Sunday's race, as well as two penalty points.
