Ferrari has named Marco Mattiacci as its new team principal after Stefano Domenicali resigned from the role.

Domenicali has stepped down following a poor start to the new season having been team principal since 2008. In that time, Ferrari has won just once constructors' championship and missed out on the drivers' title at the final race on two occasions.

Mattiacci replaces Domenicali having previously been the CEO of Ferrari North America, becoming team principal with immediate effect. Having thanked Domenicali for his work, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo said Mattiacci was keen to take control.
