Nico Rosberg says Mercedes is "pushing harder than ever" to maintain its advantage at the front of the F1 field.

Mercedes has won all three of the opening races in dominant fashion, with its performance advantage made clear following the late safety car period in Bahrain when Rosberg and team-mate Lewis Hamilton opened up a 24-second gap in the closing ten laps. With Hamilton coming out on top in that battle, Rosberg said the team is determined not to let the gap to the rest of the field shrink.

"Even though the last race was a bit disappointing from my perspective in terms of the result, it's been great to see all the positive comments that came afterwards," Rosberg said. "We've demonstrated already that we're pushing harder than ever to stay ahead of the pack. It will only get more difficult as the season goes on but I've got confidence in the team.

Rosberg also said he feels that past history shows the Shanghai International Circuit is one which he will be strong on this weekend.

"I've got good memories from China after taking my first pole position and race win in Formula One at this circuit in 2012. The layout seems to suit my driving style, it's a track I enjoy racing at and I want to be back on that top step of the podium this weekend."
