Spanish F1 Grand Prix: Vettel to be hit with grid penalty

Sebastian Vettel will be handed a five-place grid penalty for the Spanish Grand Prix due to a gearbox change
Sebastian Vettel will be handed a five-place grid penalty for the Spanish Grand Prix due to a gearbox change.

At the start of Q3, Vettel stopped on track having been stuck in fifth gear. Speaking after the session, Vettel said he hoped the problem wasn't serious enough to warrant a gearbox change due to the penalty that comes with it, but the team has now confirmed a change is required.

As a result, Vettel drops from 10th to 15th on the grid and will start behind Kevin Magnussen's McLaren, with Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat and Esteban Gutierrez all promoted one place.

Not a fan of Vettel but, come on Vettel lets see what you're made of and prove to us why you're a 4 time World Champion. Nothing better than watching a World Champion having to fight from near the back of the grid to show what they're made of!

No, I don't hate Vettel, that's too strong a word. I do dislike him, and it's not because he's so talented. I can appreciate the talent. I dislike him because he's the SMUG ***** in the RB garage. Shoving that finger in everyone's face. Disrespecting team orders. Believing he is bigger than the team. Karma. I'll give credit where it's due though. He hasn't tossed the toys out of the pram. Yet.
