Caterham will not run on the second day of the Spain in-season test after Kamui Kobayashi's crash on Tuesday.

Kobayashi crashed at Turn 3 in the final half an hour of day one, heavily damaging the right-hand side of the car. Having got the car back to the garage, Caterham checked the chassis overnight and confirmed that the damage was sufficient enough to prevent it running on Wednesday.

"Having assessed the damage to chassis CT05-#03 after Kamui's accident yesterday in the final half hour of T05 day one we have decided not to run on day two," the team announced. "While obviously not ideal, this ensures the team can now focus on the next Grand Prix in Monaco, starting next week."
