Formula Renault 3.5 race winner Will Stevens has been named as part of Caterham F1's driver line-up for testing after the British Grand Prix next month.
The British driver got his first run with the team at Silverstone last year and gets another chance to sample F1 machinery having been playing a central role in developing Caterham's drive-in-the-loop simulator at its Leafield base.
As well as his role as a team's test driver, Stevens has been competing in the FR3.5 series with Strakka Racing, where he is currently classified fourth in the standings with a win to his name at Monza.
“It'll be great to be back in an F1 car for the first time since the 2013 Silverstone test and with the amount of time I've already spent in the virtual car in the simulator, I can't wait to see how it compares to the real thing.
“I'm sure we'll have a busy run-plan set for the day and my focus will be on doing the best job I can for the team, building on the work I've been doing all year in the sim at Leafield.”
