Lewis Hamilton has vowed to do everything he can to win the British Grand Prix this weekend and delight the home fans.

Hamilton now lies 29 points behind his Mercedes team-mate and championship leader Nico Rosberg and is keen to retake the initiative in the title fight at Silverstone, after losing ground in Monaco, Canada and Austria.

"I am not surprised [at how hard the fight has been]," Hamilton said on Thursday in the countdown to the ninth round in the 2014 F1 World Championship. "I have known how close it has been since the beginning of the year.
