Nico Hulkenberg says he has reason to be satisfied having qualified ninth on the grid for the German Grand Prix, particularly as he believes he has an even stronger race package beneath him.

Both Sahara Force India F1 drivers, Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez, cracked Q3 in qualifying, the pair ending the session having locked out the fifth row in ninth and tenth respectively.

An improvement on where both drivers expected to be after struggling in free practice, Hulkenberg was pleased to have gotten the maximum out of the car in order to reach his target of the top ten.

Furthermore, the German driver is confident he has more to gain in the race as he looks to make it ten races on-the-trot where he has scored points.

"I think we got the most out of the car and ourselves, so I think we can be satisfied with the pace. We have been good over race pace compared to qualifying, so that gives us hope for tomorrow. I think it will be a long, hot and tricky race for everybody. There may be some surprises in strategy, but I think we will be alright."

Hulkenberg is one of just two drivers - along with Fernando Alonso - to have scored in each race in 2014, though he is yet to stand on the podium, either this season or in his F1 career thus far.
