Bottas wants to win title with Williams

Valtteri Bottas believes he can become F1 world champion with Williams at some point in the future
Valtteri Bottas believes he can become F1 world champion with Williams at some point in the future.

The German Grand Prix saw another highly impressive drive from Bottas as he held off Lewis Hamilton in the closing laps to take his second consecutive second place finish and third podium in a row. While Williams is enjoying a resurgence in 2014, Bottas believes it will be able to maintain the form and give him a car capable of challenging for the title in the future.

Asked if his target was to be the next Finnish world champion, Bottas replied: “Yes, that's my aim. It has always been.”

And Bottas believes Williams is the team that can help him achieve his goal.

“As a team at Williams we are definitely on the right way. That's the goal of us together; to be world champion one day and it would be really great to achieve it with Williams.”

Looking ahead to Hungary, however, Bottas admits it might be tough to repeat the performance from Hockenheim.

“Of course, it feels really good to be (on the podium) for a third time in a row but I think we're aiming for more than that now. We know Budapest might be a bit difficult for us but hopefully we get some updates.”
