The tyre choices for this season are now complete, with Pirelli having announced the compounds that will be used for the final three grands prix of the year, in the United States, Brazil and Abu Dhabi.

For the Circuit of the Americas, the medium and soft tyres have been nominated, adding another notch to the most common combination of rubber chosen in 2014. The pairing has proven well-suited to circuits with a wide-ranging series of demands, such as Austin with its combination of fast corners and more technical sections.

By contrast, the two hardest compounds in Pirelli's range have been nominated for Brazil, with the orange-ringed hard tyre pairing with the medium. While Interlagos is the shortest lap of the year, the energy demands are high as the anti-clockwise track essentially consists of a series of non-stop corners, with a high level of asphalt roughness.

To complete the season, another different compound combination will be taken to Yas Marina, with the soft and supersoft tyres chosen for Abu Dhabi. The circuit is one of the smoothest of the year, and well-known territory for Pirelli, with a lot of the company's testing carried out there prior to its arrival in F1. The race takes place into the evening, with ambient and track temperatures dropping, and the tyre choice - for what is a double-points event remember - should put the accent on strategy.
