Jenson Button says it's possible that he could race in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) next season if he doesn't stay at McLaren.

Mark Webber left Red Bull to join Porsche in the WEC at the start of this year, and Button's manager Richard Goddard said his driver is "a wanted man" outside of F1. When Button was asked about the potential to move in to the WEC, he replied: "Anything is possible in life if you have the right circumstances or situation, but has to be there for it to happen."

Despite there being three weeks since the last race in Russia, Button said there had been no further developments relating to his future with McLaren.

"I've not spoken. I've been ripping it up on holiday, which has been amazing. I've not heard anything different. I'm just enjoying myself and looking forward to giving it my all this weekend and getting the best out of myself. I don't watch many other sports, but I do watch a bit of WEC and a bit of rallycross which is just mental. I love that, but I haven't spoken to anyone."

With just three races remaining this season, Button said "there will be an answer before the end of the season" but doesn't feel he can convince McLaren with specific performances.

"All I can do is drive round as fast as I can and finish as high as I can, do my job and give as much good feedback as I can, which is what I do anyway. I'm not changing anything in the way I work. I'm just making sure I am enjoying it and not feeling like I was a few weeks ago before Japan where I felt under massive pressure.

"It's not a nice way to feel, but I feel in a much better place - as I was in Russia - just to get my head down and enjoy my racing, and what happens next year happens."

And Button said his more relaxed demeanour was the result of a personal mindset change rather than any indication from the team.

"Totally, just the feeling I have, my close friends and family. We obviously talk about it a lot, but there's nothing I've heard that's any different."

Get the feeling he knows something we don't, sadly.
