Felipe Massa says he expects Interlagos to suit Williams and that it will be strong in the Brazilian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo beat both Williams cars to third place in the United States Grand Prix last weekend, with Massa unhappy after saying he had the pace to beat the Red Bull. However, looking ahead to his home race in Brazil, Massa said the track characteristics should ensure Williams has another competitive weekend.

"I think it can be a good track for us," Massa said. "I think our car can work well. It's true that it's a small track, you have a slow sector from corner six to corner eleven, but you have two or even two and a half good straights. So I think our car can work well there."

And having been outspoken about Pirelli's choice of medium and hard compound tyres which was later revised to soft and medium, Massa said he was pleased to see concerns taken on board.

"I said that it was too hard, so if they changed it for one step softer then it's the correct step. Maybe it can be even another step but we don't know. It's a new track, it's brand new asphalt, so we always saw that with brand new asphalt normally you need even softer tyres. So we'll see, but I'm happy that they changed and I'm happy that they saw that it was not correct what they chose."
