Nico Rosberg says his target is to try and force Lewis Hamilton in to a mistake in tomorrow's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after taking pole position.

Hamilton made small errors throughout his qualifying session to end up 0.4s behind pole-sitter Rosberg at the Yas Marina Circuit ahead of Sunday's title showdown. Having taken a pole position which could prove crucial to his title hopes, Rosberg said all he can do is keep pushing to try and make Hamilton crack under pressure

"Of course pressure is one of the hopes that I have," Rosberg said. "If Lewis feels the pressure and makes the mistakes as a result, a bit like today - I haven't seen it but if you're saying that - and a bit like Brazil that's the sort of opportunities that I'm looking for and I'm going to try and push for.

"I'm going to push flat-out all the time to try and keep the level extremely high. That's all I can do really, try and go for the win and keep the pressure on."

However, Rosberg said he doesn't take any extra confidence from his 11th pole position of the season having failed to convert a number of them in to race wins this year, but he says his win in Brazil proves he is making progress in that area.

"Qualifying was one of the strengths this year but it's not even half of the weekend it's just the first step. It's Sunday that counts and that's where I've looked to improve a little bit recently, like at Interlagos for example, I managed to do the step and that's what I need to do again tomorrow."
