Nico Rosberg admitted it was tough for him to get back in his Mercedes just two days after missing out on the drivers' championship in Abu Dhabi.

After Lewis Hamilton won the title on Sunday - with Rosberg suffering from poor reliability - Rosberg was testing for Mercedes at the Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday. After setting the third fastest time Rosberg conceded the first few laps were tough for him but that he recovered to focus on what he could learn from extra time in the car.

"It has not easy to be back in the car after Sunday, but after about 20 laps I found my rhythm again and it was fun again," Rosberg said.

"We have so few tests in F1 nowadays that every day counts, so there was no point in not testing today even after the disappointment of Sunday. It was good because when we go to winter testing the team has its own program to follow so I cannot use the time for myself and for the things I need to learn."

And Rosberg said he was still able to learn a lot from testing the 2014 car despite it coming after the last race of the season.

"I started my 2015 season today. It was a good learning day, we tested the tyres for next year, so there was a lot to learn. It was a good day. A lot happened to me this season, but I?m happy that after today my year is finally over and I?m now ready to go on vacations.

"We had an amazing season but it?s always possible to improve the car and even myself as a driver. That?s the beauty of the sport and next year I?m going to be even stronger."

I doubt that he will be champion for Mercedes.

I'm sorry but the team he drives for seemed to be behind his team mate more than him, why would he have so many more failures?

If I were him I would be bailing out of that team.
