Force India debutant Spike Goddard described his first run in an F1 car as "like a Formula 3 on steroids".

Goddard drove for Force India on the final day in Abu Dhabi, completing 89 laps and setting the sixth fastest time. After his first experience of an F1 car - having been driving in the FIA European Formula 3 championship this season - Goddard said the step up had been "amazing" and was pleased with the progress he made over the day.

"Incredible," Goddard said. "The car's amazing, it's on a whole new level to anything else I've ever driven. It's just amazing ... Soaking it in is going down the pit lane, it's just 'I'm in a Formula One car' and then once you flick off the pit limiter it all goes in to work mode and you have to focus on other things.

"It's like a Formula 3 on steroids. Everything is on such a new level and such a high level ... I was learning something new and chipping away every lap, so I think I'd only get quicker if I had more time in the car."

Looking ahead to next season, Goddard said there are no firm plans in place but that he would like to continue working with Force India if possible.

"For now it's unsure. I'd like to keep in contact with the team in any way I could; simulator or third driver or whatever they have available I'd be happy to help out. I'd love to.

"[Third driver] would be super ideal. I'd love that, that would be a dream come true really.

"If I can't get anything here I've been looking in to ELMS, LMP2 in America or possibly even the German Carrera Cup and Supercup ... just looking at which alley is going to take my career in the best direction."
