Ferrari engine 'stronger', says Sauber's Ericsson Marcus Ericsson says his Ferrari-powered Sauber C34 feels 'stronger to drive' all round as the team continued its positive start to pre-season testing in Barcelona.

Though Ferrari has captured attention with its rapid pace during testing so far, the performance of the Sauber C34 has also caught the eye as the Swiss team looks to avoid a repeat of last year's point-less campaign.

Indeed, Ericsson, who got the chance to drive the 2014 Sauber during the Abu Dhabi, says the gains in the car and particularly the engine have been notable.

"Over the winter they have made good steps compared to the unit I tested in Abu Dhabi. Comparing that to the one we have here and had in Jerez they have made a good step. It feels like it is on a good level. But obviously we don't know where we are until we are in Melbourne.

"I think it is a bit better on power delivery, but also just in general it has more power. It feels stronger to drive. I think they have made steps in all aspects of the engine and that is really positive."
