McLaren-Honda's hopes of building on its mileage on the third day of Formula 1 testing in Spain has been hampered by a recurrence of the MGU-K issue that hampered it on Thursday.

Frustratingly for Jenson Button - who only got a few laps in the car on Thursday after the seal component failed -, the issue resurfaced early during his second day in the car, forcing him to stop on track after just seven laps.

It comes after team-mate Fernando Alonso completed 59 largely trouble-free laps on Friday, despite McLaren predicting the MGU-K issue would limit his running. Instead, it was Button who lost out on mileage once again, the Briton completing a handful more laps at limited power.

Following its failure on Thursday, McLaren was able to re-engineer a new seal created in time for Friday. However, this failure means it is now working on another solution to be applied before Alonso returns to the car tomorrow.
