Force India says it is still hoping to give the VJM08 its first track time during the third and final pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya having persevered with its 2014 specification car this week.

Forced to miss the first collective outing of the year in Jerez, Force India made its belated first appearance of 2015 during the second test, albeit with the 2014-specification VJM07 on 2015 Pirelli tyres.

It also had Mercedes AMG test driver Pascal Wehrlein in the car on two days of the test as an alternative to a financial recompense to the manufacturer for supply of its power unit.

Similarly, the driver line-up for the test is yet to be revealed, suggesting Wehrlein could get more mileage in the car at the behest of Sergio Perez and Nico Hulkenberg, the latter of which only made his 2015 track debut today and completing just 32 laps before a power unit failure.
