Lotus' promising pre-season winter testing programme came to an abrupt end on the final day of action at the Circuit de Catalunya after a brake issue resulted in a crash for Pastor Maldonado.

The Mercedes-powered E23 Hybrid has shown encouraging form over the course of the pre-season winter tests, but would end the 12th and final day in the barriers at turn four after a systems issue prevented Maldonado from braking as normal.

Causing enough damage to conclude Lotus' test just after lunchtime, Maldonado was disappointed with the early finish, but otherwise happy with the pace from the car.
