Felipe Nasr says he cannot wait to get the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship season underway now after concluding his winter testing schedule with a mammoth 157 trouble-free laps in the Sauber.

The GP2 Series race winner steps up to F1 this season with Sauber after a year as a Williams Martini Racing test driver, the Brazilian coming away with the seventh fastest time on the overall timesheets with a super-soft run on the final day..

Perhaps more significantly for the rookie, he accumulated the most laps over the final four day test, managing exactly 300 laps in what proved to be a reliable pre-season build-up for Sauber.

Looking ahead to his first race, Nasr is confident Sauber has developed a package that can challenge for points after failing to do so in 2014.

"I am feeling confident. I realistically we made some good improvements over the winter and compared to last year's car it looks a lot, lot better. I think we are going to be in the mix of the field so I'm hoping we can, with the opportunities that we will have, score points in Melbourne."
