Felipe Massa says he will need to concentrate a "little more" on Saturday in Bahrain after struggling with the balance on the opening day.

Massa trailed team-mate Valtteri Bottas in both FP1 and FP2 finishing the day 0.604s slower and down in tenth place in the sister Williams. Bottas in contrast was fifth overall and 'best of the rest' after the Mercedes' and Ferraris.

"I think maybe for me it was not fantastic, I think for the team it was not so bad," Massa replied when asked about the day.

"For me I was not so happy with the balance of the car so I just need to improve for tomorrow. I'm sure the car can be better compared to what I did today so I just need to concentrate a little bit more on some changes and understanding the right balance for tomorrow."

Despite his set-up problems, however, Massa is confident he can do well again in qualifying and again put his Williams on the second row, as he did in China last weekend.

"I expect we can do another good quali, so I will try. I will try everything I can to do that. That's it. We just need to concentrate on this weekend, concentrate on preparing the car for the race because we know how important it is to try to get closer to these guys in front, so we will try."

"It's a different track, different temperatures so everything is different. The car is more or less the same though so we just have to understand everything about this track, which is a lot related to the rear tyre degradation, so we will work on that," he added.
