McLaren has revealed a new livery for its Formula 1 MP4-30 car which it will use for the remainder of the 2015 championship, starting with this weekend's Spanish Grand Prix.

The refreshed livery has a revised colour scheme, opting for a darker 'graphite-grey' base colour with stronger red highlights.

"The new livery improves the MP4-30's visual impact, optimising it for not only bright sunshine but also for the floodlights increasingly used in twilight and night races," a McLaren statement read.

"The result is a dynamic, predatory, graphite-grey colouration, complemented by McLaren-dayglo 'speedmarks' and keylines, reducing the reflection issues caused by our latest chrome-silver treatment."

The team hopes the change of colours will mark the start of an improvement in results after failing to score a final championship point so far in 2015.

McLaren, who switched to Honda as power unit suppliers for the new season, is set to bring upgrades on both its chassis and engine to the Circuit de Catalunya.
