Kimi Raikkonen feels there is "a lot to improve and gain" after finishing second practice for the Spanish Grand Prix in fourth place.

Raikkonen managed to go P4 in both sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya on Friday, and while he was right up with Ferrari team-mate, Sebastian Vettel in P1 - only 0.026s slower - he dropped back in P2, over half a second adrift.

Speaking afterwards, the 2007 F1 world champion conceded that he had been "struggling all day".

"It was quite a strange day," said the Finn. "The position and laptimes were not too bad, but I was not completely happy with the handling of the car."

"I don't know if it was caused by the wind or by the conditions of the track, but I have been struggling all day," he confirmed.

Raikkonen also added that he didn't feel his issues had anything to do with the many updates the Scuderia has for this event.

"We did not see anything bad with the upgrades we brought here. It's just the feeling that it's not completely right, as if the car was sliding," he explained.

"I feel there's a lot to improve and to gain, in the evening we'll look more into details and see what we can do for the rest of the weekend".
